Mixed Media Monthly Challenge No 32: Put a Stencil on It

This is my first entry for the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge.  I love mixed media of any kind and this challenge was perfect for me as I have a passion for stencils. I cannot resist buying them.

For this layout I have used 4 different stencils to form the background as will as enhance the theme. The blue arrow and green ric rac stencil were used to develop the background and the words and bubbles as an overlay related to the pictures. I have used molding paste, paints and sprays to develop the background. The foreground is comprised of Dusty Attic chipboard, gauze with sculpture medium, micro beads, paints, art stones and sprays.

The photos are of my grandson Beau at our local beach. I hope you enjoy my layout.

Words & Paintery January 2017 Challenge

https://wordspaintery.blogspot.com.au

This the first time I have entered the Words & Paintery Challenge however I am a huge mixed media fan and love trying out different techniques. For this challenge I focused on the colours and the slightly different shades by using alchemy paints, Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals and sprays added to a textured background. Feeling in the 'pretty' mood added flowers that lent it self to the theme of loving someone. I finished off with metals as well as hearts that were covered in rusting paste giving a slightly more textured look to the embellishments.

I have featured a picture of my daughter Alana. I felt the quote was appropriate as we love our children however there are times when we need to do their own thing before returning to us as wonderful human beings.

I hope you enjoy this page as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo January Challenge 2017 - Straws

This is the first time I have done this challenge using STRAWS. I only had white plastic straws so changed the colour with gesso and sprays. I used them as embellishments around the main area. I hope you enjoy my page.

Dusty Attic: Jan 2017 Challenge

http://dustyatticblog.blogspot.com.au

I love these colours so thought I would make a off the page piece to put on display. I enjoyed using the DA chipboard to create a mixed media layout that features my daughter. I have taken some inspiration from parts of the layout and of the colours features on the pictures.

I hope you enjoy as it was a lot of fun to create.

More Than Words Challenge Jan 2017

This is the first time I have attempted this challenge however very excited to have a go. This months word 'Celebrate' was perfect for the photo I had in mind as well as the bling aspect. Bling: I chose rhinestones dotted around the main mixed media floral feature, alchemy paints and sprays to add sparkle to the background and for extra bling, I added art sugar to the hearts and emossed butterflies. The word Celebrate: I decided to incorporate it into the mixed media background by stamping it randomly around the main layout feature.
 I hope you enjoy.

Kraft Plus Challenge Jan 2017 On Your Bike

I wanted to do a page that reflected the content of the photo and day that it was taken. The lead rider is my husband who was  leading the inaugural HMAS Westralia Charity ride as part of the Patriots Bike Club. I chose more grungy style mediums to reflect the type of photo and theme. The stamped words felt 'right' for the day and the purpose of the ride as well as metals and cogs that lent it a mechanically feel.
