One of the things we all seem to have left over in our scrap booking supplies is plenty of ephemera.... in fact lots of it. I thought that it was time to start trying to use up some of the bits of pieces that I have.
For this lay out I started by finding all the bits and pieces that had a similar pictorial theme that I wanted e.g. a slightly antique rustic look in golds, goldy-greens, browns and rust colours. I also found some dusty attic chipboard that once a gain I had sitting in my supplies.

A picture in Gold
To help tie it all together I added some gold powders where I had used stencils and Tim Holtz crackle distress inks in Frayed Burlap and Peeled Paint to create crackle drips. Finally I used some Tim Holtzs distress stains and added some drips by taking the top of and using a paint brush made some random drips.
To add the slightly grungy look I used Finnabair word stamps and with a black water colour pencil to trace around the stamped words and the ephemera that needed to stand out more.
