More Than Words - April - BUGS AND BIRDS

Wow wow wow what a wonderful challenge BUGS AND BIRDS. I love butterflies and think that the gorgeous patterns on the butterflies wings and the colour is so magical. I get so excited when I see one flying around in the garden. I used Lindy Stamp Gang spays and Magicals to develop a rich colour on the background with molding paste and stencils to represent the patterns the wings. Finally using layeirng and paints to develop a multi texture background to build wonderful page. I hope you enjoy.

Dusty Attic Moodboard - October

The moodboard this month is full of wonderful rich tones. I love the feel of the colours and the picture.

I decided that it needed an outdoor picture to go with it.

I used a lovely wood grain patterned page and applied clear gesso. Once dry, used a brown texta to draw on a pattern with the stencil - chicken wire. A mixture of white crackle paste, Lindy Stamp Gangs magicals was applied randomly to the page.

the chipboard was painted with a range of sprays and paints. To add texture, I added embossing powders to the larger leaves and outdoor camping lantern.

To finish off, I layer the chipboard, photos and added beads to the chicken wire chipboard.

I hope you enjoy and would love to see some comments in the section below with your thoughts.

Dusty Attic December Christmas Decorations

This is a beautiful moodboard that has deep rich colours that are festive. Because it is nearly Christmas, I decided to make some Christmas tree decorations.

Using 3 round discs, I added a thick layer of white crackle paste. Once dry, sprinkled different Lindy Stamp Gang shakers lightly and spray with a light spritz of water. I chose colours that reflected the mood board.

Chipboard - I painted the chipboard with similar colours to the mood board leaving the Marrakesh pieces in white.

To assemble, I used white sisal to add depth to the layers. To finish off, added prills - white and gray. To reflect the moodboard water droplets, I added small finnabair melange's.

I hope you enjoy the decorations.

MTW December Challenge

A wonderful final challenge for 2019.

My take on REJOICE is ‘in the small things in life’. A beautiful picture of my son and granddaughter Amelia building sand castles. My take on ANYTHING GOES is a mixed media beach theme.

My background was created using a stencilled net pattern with a variety of Lindy Stamp Gang sprays. This was overlayed with a Dark Door stamp and Pumice Stone embossing powder. I also embossed the round port holes. Using strips of patterned paper, created a layer to add the embellishments. The Dusty Attic chipboard was painted in wood, sand and aqua colours. I finished off with some spare beach theme cut outs including a rope frame and small and mini art stones.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments bar below.
