Dusty Attic February Project - Camping

A fun tag all about the outdoors and camping. I used a discarded product package and added a rough layer of white gesso so add texture. Add a sprinkle of Lindy Stamp Gang (LSG) Whale Watch Blue and Sandra Dee Sepia Magicals to represent the earth and sky. Tip: add extra powder in places to add depth of colour.

Chipboard was painted in a range of colours using Dusty Attic Gingernut for the boots, Pesto for the gum trees (I have trimmed the trees to fit on the tag), rust paste for the wood pieces, Tim Holtz Distress Oxides - Old paper and Gathered Twigs for the tent, sign post and clock. Flames were painted with a range of LSG sprays to create the flames and wooden base.

Add three strips of pattern paper to form a raised base and place pieces to form the layout. Once glued in place, use a green water colour pencil and edge the tent and sign post and a brown pencil for the clock and edge of the tag. Finally flick watered white gesso over the layout. Add your word tiles or quote.

I hope you enjoy and I would love to hear from you in the comments section below.

Dusty Attic Febrary Mood Board Challenge

http://dustyatticblog.blogspot.com

What a wonderful warm colour palette of this months mood board. I decided to use the outdoor aspect to create my layout featuring a holiday picture taken in the Village of Shere.

The background was created using the DA burlap stencil, rust paste and a range of magicals to add colour. I have used a mixture of LSG sea grass, aloha avocado and others to add contrast. While drying, have cut the fence paing chipboard and coated with rust past and once dry, add colour depth painting the edge and ridges with Lindy Stamp Gang (LSG) Van Dyke Sepia. tprepare your chip boards. Texture on the foliage is created by a range of texture pastes and coloured with LSG sprays.

BIrd cage and shutters are coloured with a mixture of DA paints (Gingernut and Storm Cloud). Tip: once dry, rub on Finnabair wax to add depth. I  painted LSG Magical shaker California Poppy Gold on the edges to highlight against the other embellishments. The trellis is painted with a silver/iron coloured LSG spray and edged with  Black Forest LSG  Magical Shaker to add depth.

Build your layout and add foam tape or old spare DA chippie leftovers to add height where needed. I have added the flower and leaves cut outs from 49 and Market to the page. Tip: look for spots in your layout where there are gaps and aim to fill so that the layout flows outwards. Add you words with some foam tape so that they sit in line with the height of the layout. Tip: as I use up DA chipboard, I keep the outer card bits and cut up into smaller pieces to use on layouts instead of foam tape.

I have finished of by adding dark brown prills and rust mica powder to the lower part of the layout coming from under the chipboard and leaves. It adds a shadowy effect and depth.

I hope you any joy my layout and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments bar on my blog http://rosaliescreativecafe.blogspot.com

                                                         February 2019 Main Challenge

ALWAYS & QUOTE

Word Inspiration - ALWAYS
Creative Challenge - QUOTE

What does the word ALWAYS inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post how it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

My QUOTE is related to my belief that we ALWAYS need to take time to experience our world and how we travel through life.

I hope you enjoy my leave and I would love to hear from you in the comments below.
