Dusty Attic April - fresh and light

I love this wonderful fresh moodboard. It was perfect for fresh colours mixed with a watercolour background effect.

Using white card stock, I added a layer of white crackle paste and graphite textured paste stencilled on the background to create a layered look. A variety of Lindy Stamp Gang sprays added colour based on the mood board.

To create the textured circles under the photo mats, I embossed a circle and added white prills and when dry, painted it with metallique spray in golden brown.

The different chipboard were painted with paint or texture paste. One dry, I sprayed the flowers with a variety of sprays to compliment the background colours.

I layered the photo mats and added the chipboard and other embellishments and flicked white gesso, metallique browns and yellow sprays over the layout to add a grungy look.

To finish off, I added colour to the edge of the page and added words in and around the layout.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout and would love to hear from you in the comments section below.

April - More Than Words Challenge

Add caption

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration - BABY
Creative Challenge - PASTELS

What does the word BABY inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post
how it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

This month's word brings soft and sweet images to mind.
What better way to complement this than with PASTELS?
Pastels are delicate, gentle colours. Think pale pink, lulling lilac,
magic mint or baby blue... and create a subtle and soothing project.

I have a beautiful picture of my granddaughter Amelia taken
at her first Christmas. She is the most beautiful BABY to me.
I have used soft blues and PASTELS for the background as
                                              well as butterfly embellishments.

I have used one of my old books that I use as a journal album and painted the pages in thick white gesso and white crackle paste to develop a textured base. Using a stencil created a textured background. Once dry I used a variety of soft blue distress inks and Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals, developed a soft blue background.

I stencilled a floral pattern in dark blue ink and using some wonderful old doilies from my mum, a range of patterned papers in blues, coffee colours and sepia tones, built up layers. I embossed black cotton and added in between the layers.

To finish off, stamped a script pattern on the back ground as well as adding words and flicked a range of Lindy Stamp Gang sprays over the back ground and embellishments to add a grungy look. I used a sepia coloured spray and painted around the edges of the pages.

I hope you enjoy my layout and would love to hear your comments in the section below.
