More than Words May Challenge - Frames

Word Inspiration - MEMORIES
Creative Challenge - FRAME

What does the word MEMORIES inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it.  Since words are an integral part of our challenges, we want to know how this month's word stimulated your creative process, so please do explain in your blog post how
it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

In homes across the world, we keep our special photo memories in frames. Look around your home and chances are you will see many frames. We also love to use frames on scrapbooking projects, whether they are chipboard, cardstock, stickers, stamps, etc. For our creative challenge, we would love to see you frame it up by adding at least 1 FRAME to your project.

I have chosen my version of MEMORIES by using a photo from Facebook. In the future, my everyday memories will be by looking back at my daily electronic footprint such as Facebook and Instagram, and of course the good old #selfie! I have incorporated FRAMES around my photo layered on another
frame with stamped embossed frames.

Dusty Attic Mood Board - May Challenge

Large Tag - I thought I would create a grungy tag that featured my nephew have a lovely quite time with my beautiful granddaughter Amelia. I started by adding a coloured wash to the base with yellows, oranges and sepia tones. Using the diamond stencil, randomly apply over the base and allow to dry so that base colours seep into the paste used for the stencil. Use Tim Holtz brown distress oxides to add some grungyness to the background and cut the bright colours. Add random strips of paper to the base. Paint the different chipboard pieces apply a light rub of bronze wax to added a aged look. For the wings, use Tim Holtz distress oxides to add some grungyness. Add the words and  randomly stamp a diamond pattern onto the background remembering to make sure that the stamp is coming from underneath the main features. Add bronze micro beads underneath the main pieces and along the strips of paper that are showing.

Dusty Attic Project - May

Wow - what a beautiful mood board with softness, richness and colour. I thought that it was the perfect platform to decorate a masquerade mask. I used paints to colour the base of the mask and then using different dusty Attic chipboard placed on the main part of the mask to create a base for the flowers. Using different flowers, gauze that had been tinted with orange paints and gears and cogs, added to the mask on top of the floral Dusty Attic chipboard. To add a change of colour to off set the organe, apricot and tangerine tones, I added dark green sprigs to in and underneath the main floral arrangement.

I hope you enjoy and for more inspiration, visit the Dusty Attic blog: http://dustyatticblog.blogspot.com.au
