Dusty Attic - Sentiments Tin - Amelia

A beautiful rich deep colour tones for this months challenge. I had an old tin that was just perfect for a upgrade which I could use as a small sentiment statement piece on my sideboard.

I painted all of the surfaces, inside and outside, in black gesso and once dry, painted with a deep rich red. Lindy Stamp Gang sprays were used to add depth to the colour as well as Finnabair Graphite texture paste for texture on the surfaces.

Once all the layers are dry, paint the different Dusty Attic chipboard pieces. Tip: I needed to cut the ATC frames in half and trim so that they would fit inside of the tin.

I assembled all of the pieces and before gluing, added a layer of embossed black thread. To finish off, I added black micro beads to add a layer in the base of the tin.

I hope you enjoy and would love to see your thoughts in the comments on my blog:

Dusty Attic - March Challenge - Mini Canvas

This months challenge is one of rich warm colours. I have used these tome to create a mini canvas of a photo of my daughter when she was younger.

To create this canvas, I used white crackle paste to add a textured base.  Once dry, a variety of Lindy Stamp Gang (LSG) magicals were sprinkled on the base to add depth of colour. I finished the preparation with a layer of soft grey paste through a stencil. I randomly stamped words on the base to add a grungy look.

Dusty Attic chipboard was sprayed with a variety of pink, red and coral LSG sprays and edged with a black watercolour pencil to highlight the shape of the flowers.

Antique doily's were soaked in bleach to remove the aged yellow colour (works best if left overnight). Once dry, spray with a soft LSG grey spray. I cut the doily's up roughly ready to use on the canvas.

The main Dusty Attic frame under my photo was painted with LSG magicals - Bratwurst Brown.

To assemble, I added the photo on the frame and layered the flowers and doily pieces in and around the main feature. Add the word tab and art stones. I prepare the art stones by adding to clear glue and grey LSG spray and paste in and around the edges of the doily and any areas where there are gaps.

A final flick of white gesso over the layout and a black water colour pencil around the edge to finish off.

I hope you have enjoyed my mini canvas and would love to read any comments you have for me in the comments bar below.

More Than words - March Challenge - Fantasy and Wings

March 2019 Main Challenge
FANTASY & WINGS

We are extremely excited to share with you today
our brand new main challenge for March!

And now, without further ado, here is our March main challenge!

I always this of nature as being part of the wonderful FANTASY world. I have included insects and butterflies as part of the embellishments and the WINGS creative challenge.

To create my page, I have used Lindy Stamp Gang sprays and magicals to create a sepia toned background. The aim was to compliment the sepia photograph of my grandchildren Noah and Summer. 49 and Market laser cut out sheet was used to add dandelions and also the circle to mount the photo on. Tim Holtz entomology stamps were used to create the insects and butterflies around the layout. I stamped on watercolour paper and painted with a variety of Lindy Stamp Gang sprays. To add dimension, I included a Dusty Attic birdcage to gave depth to the layout. I also added Dusty Attic chipboard foliage painted in green to add contrast.

I hope you enjoy and I would love to hear from you in the comments bar below.
